More than three decades ago, Brain Injury Awareness Month was established to educate the public about brain injuries and the needs of those with brain injury, including mild Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). A mild TBI is caused by a bump, blow, jolt or penetration to the head that can lead to short or long-term changes affecting thinking, language, sensation or emotion.
Over 750,000 men and women who served in the Global War on Terror have some form of TBI. Often, those with a TBI go undiagnosed and untreated due to lack of education about the topic. Our goal at RLF is to bring awareness around the issue and advocate for the proper diagnosis and treatment of those suffering in silence.

We at Team Chivington are proud to be one of RLF's current fundraising supporters.
As an Ohioan, I founded the cycling platform to support veterans with TB and PTS.
I come from a military family who has experienced four deployments. In one of the deployments, my son was injured in combat and thankfully, recovered successfully. As a way to give back to support other veterans, Team Chivington competes in long distance cycling events to raise awareness and funds for other families in need. To date, since September of 2019, Team
Chivington has raised over $9,200 for our Veterans.
Team Chivington holds two State of Ohio age group crossing records recognized by the World Ultra Cycling Association. Each record attempt was over 200 miles and in 2020 the crossing was completed in under 12 hours In 2021 Team Chivington is partnering with the Chillicothe, Ohio VA to donate Bicycle helmets for a Veterans Bike Share Program.
This local program was awarded "Best innovation" within the VA System at the national level in 2019. Through generous donations to Team Chivington, we will be supplying bicycle helmets, branded with both RLF and Team Chivington logos to any veteran participating in the Chillicothe VA bike share program. This wonderful program gets veterans outdoors, exercising and back to a sense of community by riding with fellow veterans- all while protecting their brains!
2021 will continue to be a fundraising year! I will be pursuing more World Ultra Cycling record attempts and fund raisers for RLF. On Friday April 16, 2021 at the Major Taylor Velodrome in Indianapolis Indiana, Team Chivington will be attempting age group World Records for the 6 hour and 200K events.

In the spring of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was just starting to unfold, an
unassuming group of veterans, led by Andrew Young and Robb Will banded together to
create something special. The Humor 4 Healing comedy series began as a way for those
feeling isolated at home to connect with others. It quickly grew into something much more
than how it started, with just a couple of guys on zoom, swapping jokes. Now, the series has
grown to have over 1,100 unique viewers of the program thanks to the learning and laughs
that come from the comedians, some of which have traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
Now, the series is preparing for it's 4th live show. Hosted by the Warrior Workout Network, the latest zoom comedy show (free) is titled Comedy Fun with Dobie Maxwell and will be held on March 13. 2021. All are welcome to ion via the link below:
