We are excited and proud to announce that our short film Brainstorms was nominated for Best Narrative Short and Best Actor at the GI Film Festival in San Diego, where it will be screened on May 19. The short film will also be featured at the Cinema Columbus Film Festival on April 27. Brainstorms premiered at the Soho International Film Festival on October 2022.
Brainstorms follows a veteran who received a concussive blast during a tour of duty, and then tries to assimilate back into civilian life with the invisible injury. The short film offers audiences an experiential account of what life is like for veterans suffering with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
Veterans who worked with Resurrecting Lives Foundation served as consultants for the project, and courageously spent hours sharing their experiences with the Tiny Apples production team. These veterans will be joining Dr. Chrisanne Gordon at the Gateway Film Center in Columbus for a post showing discussion about the mission of the movie - to raise awareness of and promote treatment for TBI.
We hope you can join us at the Gateway Film Center in Columbus at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 27. Tickets for this event can be purchased here.
Our California-based veterans will be joining us for this discussion as will Chief Joe Pisano, our project manager for the newly established San Diego office. Brainstorms will air at the Balboa Photography Theater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19. Tickets for this screening can be purchased here.

Resurrecting Lives Foundation is proud to partner with Pisano Artistry in the creation of Chief Joe Pisano’s war memorial, The Art of Immortalizing Heroes. The project is a large scale seven-panel art exhibit, inspired by the returning veteran recipients of the 2021 Honor Flight.
Panels of the creation are dedicated to World War I, World War Il, Korean War, Vietnam Conflict and Global War on Terrorism veterans. The exhibit also pays tribute to Funeral Honors and Unsung Heroes.
Experience the Art of Immortalizing Heroes - the War Memorial with images of the panels and accompanying in-depth video discussions about what each piece means to the artist on our website. Resurrecting Lives Foundation Ambassador Chad Jenkins, a Global War on Terrorism veteran, West Point graduate and Dublin, Ohio native, joined Joe for the discussions.
View the exhibit here, and visit the Pisano Artistry website here.
Resurrecting Lives Foundation is excited to collaborate with Stop Soldier Suicide, an organization providing a crucial service to our veterans: suicide prevention.
There are currently over 750,000 veterans from the Global War on Terror (GWOT) who are struggling with TBI as well as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The vast majority of these veterans are untreated or undertreated for their invisible injuries. The most devastating consequence, which occurs all to often for many veterans, is suicide.
RLF wants to ensure that our veterans in crisis have access to the resources and care provided by Stop Soldier Suicide. SSS connects any veteran or service member who reaches out with a wellness coordinator who will provide personalized support and assistance, and will work together with the veteran to develop an individualized plan.
Please visit their website to learn more about this critically important organization.
If you are a veteran in crisis, please call the SSS hotline at 844-317-1136.
Resurrecting Lives Foundation is currently raising funds for our upcoming Capitol Hill veterans and congressional private viewing of our short film Brainstorms. Our mission is to raise congressional awareness of the difficulties veterans face in accessing traumatic brain injury treatmen, and provide veterans with direct access to lawmakers.
